JOHOR BARU – The Covid-19 quarantine and low-risk treatment centre (PKRC) at Permai Hospital here, which can accommodate up to 585 patients, started operations today.

Johor National Security Council in a Facebook post said the second public PKRC will house women, pregnant mothers and children below 12 years old.

“The PKRC at the Olive B building at Permai Hospital started to receive patients today and is expected to be able to accommodate up to 585 patients at any one time.”

The Permai Hospital PKRC is the third such centre in Johor after the Pasir Gudang Indoor Stadium PKRC here and DB Complex PKRC in Iskandar Puteri, which is managed by the private sector.

All the centres accommodate Covid-19 Categories 1 and 2 patients, who have no symptom or mild symptoms.

Johor recorded 363 new coronavirus cases today, bringing the overall infections to 64,639 in the state, with 450 deaths. – Bernama, June 13, 2021
