KUALA LUMPUR – The Special Committee on Covid-19 Vaccine Supply Access Guarantee (JKJAV) has activated Phase 4 of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme to curb the spread of the virus in the economic sector, said Khairy Jamaluddin.

The programme’s coordinating minister said this outbreak control phase focuses on industrial areas including the manufacturing sector which is operating throughout the current movement control order (MCO 3.0).

“We will start with a few industrial sectors this week, where a vaccination centre (PPV) will be handled by the International Trade and Industry Ministry.

“This is especially for the manufacturing sectors that are operating during the MCO 3.0.

“We will then open PPVs in other industries like construction, farming, retail and hospitality,” he said today in the joint weekly press conference with Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba.

Khairy added that the activation of the fourth phase is to strike a balance between lives and livelihoods.

“We have activated this phase to ensure that Covid-19 clusters involving workplaces can be controlled.”

He said the Health Ministry has detected another 11 active workplace clusters. – The Vibes, June 14, 2021
