KUALA LUMPUR – The National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme yesterday recorded the highest-ever daily vaccination tally of 197,963 doses administered, fast approaching the government’s target of 200,000 per day.

Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Adham Baba tweeted that 142,890 individuals received their first dose yesterday, and 55,073 others, their second, bringing the total to 4,688,233 doses administered so far.

A total of 1,413,039 individuals in the country have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19, he said.

The five states with the highest number of people who have received both shots are Selangor with 180,605, followed by Sarawak (159,920), Johor (135,621), Perak (135,435) and Kuala Lumpur (127,174).

Dr Adham said 13,811,642 vaccination registrations were recorded yesterday, led by Selangor with 3,510,783, followed by Johor (1,723,619), Sarawak (1,321,651) and Kuala Lumpur (1,167,136).

National immunisation drive coordinating minister Khairy Jamaluddin was previously reported as saying Putrajaya is targeting 200,000 people vaccinated each day starting next month, and 300,000 daily beginning August. – Bernama, June 15, 2021
