KUALA LUMPUR – The Covid-19 infectivity rate (Rt), based on daily cases nationwide, rose to 0.94 yesterday from 0.92 a day ago, with Labuan registering the highest at 1.05.
Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah tweeted that Sabah saw the second-highest Rt at 1.04, followed by Negri Sembilan (1.03) and Sarawak (1.01).
Kelantan recorded the lowest at 0.76.
States that registered Rt readings below 1.0 are Kuala Lumpur (0.99), Johor (0.97), Selangor (0.96), Melaka (0.89), Penang (0.86), Putrajaya and Kedah (both 0.85), Perak (0.84), Pahang (0.82) and Terengganu (0.80).
The Rt value refers to a patient’s level of infectivity, or how many other individuals may catch the disease from one case. – Bernama, June 16, 2021
