KUALA LUMPUR – The prime minister’s National Recovery Plan is no plan at all, said the Pakatan Harapan presidential council.
In a statement, the council slammed the four-phase plan, saying it is nothing more than a distraction from the government’s failure to contain the Covid-19 pandemic.
It is simply a series of phases without a strategy or clear steps to tackle the health crisis, or adequate assistance for the people and businesses, said the opposition coalition.
“The recovery plan is supposed to be based on science and data, although what was said lacks any scientific backing.
“The reality of the data in question is not transparent, not open and not detailed for public scrutiny, and can be easily manipulated, as we have seen it done before.
“We feel that the prime minister has presented a ‘plan’ without any real planning.
“It was a hasty announcement that tried to divert the people’s attention away from a leadership that is volatile, has lost its sense of direction, and has failed repeatedly to control this pandemic.”
If the National Recovery Plan does not, in fact, go according to plan, the ones who will be blamed and become the victims are the rakyat themselves, said PH.
