MIRI – Hari Raya Haji sacrificial rites will be prohibited in Sarawak seeing that the Covid-19 situation remains critical, said the state Islamic Council.
“The Sarawak Fatwa Board has decided that the Covid-19 crisis may cause repercussions as it is still at a very critical stage, so we will not hold any sacrificial rites this Hari Raya Aidiladha (Haji),” the council said in a statement.
It also urged Muslims in the state to obey this latest ruling.
Today, Sarawak has 570 Covid-19 cases while yesterday the state had 718 cases. – The Vibes, June 16, 2021
