KUALA LUMPUR – Parents or guardians can start registering their children via the MySejahtera app for Covid-19 vaccinations after the Health Ministry approved the use of the Pfizer-BioNTech jabs for those over 12 years old.
For children who have their own MySejahtera ID, they can register their interest by clicking on the “Covid-19 Vaccination” tab. They will be asked to confirm their name and MyKad number.
They will then be asked about their interest in the vaccine, if they have an underlying illness or if they are registered as a PwD with the Welfare Department.
The last step is to input their address, state and postcode. Appointment dates will be rolled out later.
For those who list their children as dependants in MySejahtera, parents or guardians can register for the jabs via the “Add Vaccine Dependent” option under the “Covid-19 Vaccination” category.
This feature comes after the Drug Control Authority had, on June 15, approved the use of the Pfizer-BioNTech doses to be used on children aged 12 and above under the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme.
It is also part of the government’s bid to begin inoculating those in that age group by August.
Last month, the US and the European Union gave their approval for use of the jabs on minors aged 12-15, while Japan’s approval came earlier this month. – The Vibes, June 21, 2021
