GUA MUSANG – Flash floods triggered by heavy rains early today forced the evacuation of 297 Kg Batu Papan residents in the third such incident to hit the village this month.
The villagers – 105 women, 96 men and 96 children from 64 families – were moved to a multipurpose hall located on higher ground, said Mohd Yusalmi Mohd Yusoff of the district Disaster Management Committee secretariat.
The flooding occurred after Sg Galas swelled following a downpour that began about 1am, he told reporters at the hall.
