PORT KLANG – Khairy Jamaluddin has called on the public to remain calm while the country waits for more Covid-19 vaccines to arrive.
The national immunisation programme coordinating minister said the vaccination targets set are based on available supply.
“‘Tranquilo’ (calm down), relax. The shipments are coming. It’s not like I’m sitting on the vaccines.
“As soon as we get (the go-ahead) from the National Pharmaceutical Regulatory Agency, we will send the vaccines to states and vaccination centres,” he told a press conference in conjunction with the first vaccination programme for the transport sector managed by the Port Klang Authority today.
Vaccines’ utilisation rate has hit 90%, resulting in some states running low on supplies, he said.
At the same presser, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong said Finance Minister Datuk Seri Tengku Zafrul Tengku Abdul Aziz will give a briefing on the issue surrounding the sale or lease of Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, better known as Subang airport.
“I would like to clarify… please read the Transport Ministry’s previous statement. Whatever the current status, I have discussed it with the finance minister.
“Many reports have been published on the issue. He (Tengku Zafrul) will explain.” – Bernama, June 25, 2021
