KUALA LUMPUR – The Prime Minister’s Department has announced Datuk Jamil Rakon as its senior deputy secretary-general, effective today.
In a statement, it said Jamil, 59, who previously served as Human Resources Ministry secretary-general, has been in the civil service for 29 years.
He was first posted as assistant secretary at the Defence Ministry on December 1, 1992.
Jamil, who studied literature at Universiti Malaya and management at the Australian Defence Force Academy, is experienced in human resources management, research, and organisational development.
He previously held the posts of Home Ministry secretary-general, and deputy secretary-general (management) at both the Home and Education Ministries.
