KUALA LUMPUR – Negri Sembilan’s Seremban district will be placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from July 9 to 22, said Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.
He said eight subdistricts in Seremban registered an increase in Covid-19 infections, and that as of July 4, there were 5,504 active cases in these localities.
The eight subdistricts are Ampangan, Labu, Lenggeng, Pantai, Rantau, Rasah, Seremban and Setul.
“The implementation of the EMCO is to control the movement of residents in all the subdistricts involved, to curb the spread of Covid-19,” said Ismail Sabri in a statement today.
He said the EMCO will also be imposed on several villages in Tawau, Putatan, Beaufort, Kota Belud and Sandakan in Sabah; Kota Baru in Kelantan; a condominium in Kota Kinabalu; a workers’ quarters at the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park in Pahang; and, Johor industrial areas.
The villages and industrial areas are:
1) Kg Sg Imam in Tawau (Sabah)
2) Kg Lembising and Kg Dumpil Keramat in Putatan (Sabah)
3) One Borneo condominium in Kota Kinabalu (Sabah)
4) Kg Balibata in Beaufort (Sabah)
5) Kg Pintasan in Kota Belud (Sabah)
6) Kg Istimewa in Batu Sapi, Sandakan (Sabah)
7) Workers’ quarters at the Malaysia-China Kuantan Industrial Park in Kuantan (Pahang)
8) Indahpura Industrial Area in Kulai (Johor)
9) Seven localities in the Senai Industrial Area (Johor):
- Senai Industrial Area Phase 1
- Senai Industrial Area Phase 2
- Senai Industrial Area Phase 3
- Senai Industrial Area Phase 4
- Senai Industrial Park
- Murni Senai Industrial Park
- Senai Airport City
10) Taman Kurnia Jaya and Taman Pinggiran Gold in Kota Baru (Kelantan).
Ismail Sabri said the EMCO enforced in Kg Tahak in Membakut, Beaufort, will end ahead of schedule on Thursday.
The EMCO in three villages in Sabah and Kelantan will end on July 8, as scheduled.
The villages are:
1) Kg Pulau Tukang Dollah in Kemumin, Kota Baru (Kelantan)
2) Kg Tambulion Ulu in Kota Belud (Sabah)
