KUALA LUMPUR – Federal Territories Minister Tan Sri Annuar Musa is now under home quarantine after his special aide tested positive for Covid-19.
The employees working at his office will also be observing self-isolation, according to a statement issued yesterday.
Annuar and his team have been tested for Covid-19 and are awaiting results. His office at Level 6, Menara DBKL 1, here, has been sanitised and will be closed for a few days.
“The minister apologises for any inconvenience caused,” read the statement.
On Monday, Annuar was fined RM2,000 following his visit to former prime minister Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi last Saturday.
His tweet on the lunch was deleted the same day, after public outrage saw the minister slammed on social media for flouting Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) again.
Based on the deleted tweet that was screenshot and shared on social media, Annuar did not make the visit alone, as he also brought along his wife, Puan Sri Rosniah Abdul Rahman.
“Today, we, as husband and wife, took the opportunity to visit Tun Abdullah Badawi and Tun Jeanne Abdullah at their residence in Bait Badawi, Kuala Lumpur.
“We were there for more than two hours and had lunch prepared by Jeanne.
“May God continue to bless Pak Lah and his family,” Annuar said in the tweet.
A Facebook user who screenshot the tweet said this is the third time Annuar has flouted SOPs.
One of the instances happened in February, when the minister was seen sitting at a table with six individuals with no social distancing.
The other was in January, when he uploaded a photo of himself brisk-walking with Kuala Lumpur City Hall director-general Datuk Noordin Abdul Razak and former Kelantan Football Association treasurer Datuk Nik Aminaldin Jaafar. All did not wear face masks. – The Vibes, July 16, 2021
