KUALA LUMPUR – Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob has advised the Humanitarian Mission 4 Palestine (HM4P) team currently in Cairo, Egypt, to return to Malaysia as the situation in Gaza remains uncertain.
The advice was conveyed during his videoconference with the team today led by Umno welfare bureau chairman and Baling MP Datuk Seri Abdul Azeez Abdul Rahim.
“God willing, if the situation is stable, they can go back to Gaza. To my beloved Malaysians, everyone has their sacrifices, and in every sacrifice, there will be trials. But Allah is the Most Gracious and Most Merciful. He knows the sacrifices of every human being.
“May every effort and sacrifice be the reason for happiness for all,” said Ismail Sabri in a Facebook post tonight.
HM4P, which began on June 19, is aimed at demonstrating Malaysians’ solidarity with the Palestinians and channelling aid – money, food and medicine – to Al-Aqsa Mosque in Baitulmaqdis, West Bank, and Palestinian residents of Gaza who have been under attack by the Israeli army.
The Jewish state’s assault ended with a ceasefire on May 21, but not before numerous properties were destroyed and 250 Palestinians, including 66 children, were killed. – Bernama, July 20, 2021
