MALAYSIA has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening educational ties with Palestine, following a high-level meeting between its foreign minister and the Palestinian envoy.

Higher Education Minister Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir said he received a courtesy call from Jehad Alqedra, Palestine’s ambassador, where both sides discussed efforts to deepen cooperation in higher education between the two nations.

The discussions focused on continued support for Palestinian students, as well as expanding collaboration opportunities between universities in Malaysia and Palestine.

“Malaysia has always believed that education is a bridge to hope, peace and the future,” Zambry said in a Facebook post.

He added that Malaysia will continue to play a role in helping the Palestinian people rebuild their strength through knowledge and education.

The meeting also underscored Malaysia’s ongoing commitment to supporting Palestine beyond humanitarian aid, with education seen as a long-term pillar for nation-building. – June 17, 2026
