SUNGAI SIPUT – Healthcare personnel stationed at Covid-19 vaccination centres who suffer from physical and mental exhaustion have been urged to inform their superiors about their condition and request a temporary rest from any work, said Deputy Health Minister I Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali.
He said they need to rest so as to not disrupt the vaccination process.
“The Health Ministry is always thinking of mobilising the front-line healthcare workforce so the Covid-19 vaccination drive runs smoothly and number of daily administered doses can increase.”
He said the ministry is aware of the physical and mental strain experienced by healthcare workers in their fight against the pandemic, which requires them to work beyond their normal schedules or tasks.
The ministry has also taken note of an alleged sexual harassment incident at a vaccination centre in Johor Baru, Johor, that occurred on Sunday, he added.
