KUALA LUMPUR – Undeterred by police investigations and criticism, Sekretariat Solidariti Rakyat (SSR) is now calling for Malaysians to join a vehicle convoy protest tomorrow while waving black flags.
This is in the lead up to the bigger “Keluar dan #Lawan” rally on July 31.
Those interested are asked to wave black flags from their cars and drive in convoys within 10km of their houses.
It will be held concurrently in 10 locations in Kuala Lumpur, Kedah, Melaka, Johor, and Kuching in Sarawak.
Specific locations for the convoys to gather will be listed on the organisation’s Telegram channel.
The youth group has also released a “Rules of the Road” list, advising participants on how to behave during the protest.
Among the rules listed are to obey road traffic regulations, avoid provocation, and observe movement control order standard operating procedures.

On Wednesday, SSR called for the “Keluar dan #Lawan” protest on July 31.
According to a statement, the date, time, and venue of the rally will be announced at a later date.
The statement also reiterated SSR’s three demands – an automatic loan moratorium, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin’s resignation, and for the special Parliament sitting to be more than a “briefing session” for the government.
This comes on the heels of last Saturday’s SSR-led protest at Dataran Merdeka here that saw three of the organisers – Muhammad Nur Taufiq Azhar, Mohd Asraf Sharafi Mohd Azhar, and Mohammad Alshatri Abdullah – fined RM2,000 each, 24 hours after the protest took place.
Alleging double standards, Muda co-founder Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman tweeted his dissatisfaction saying: “If a minister breaks the law, you must open an investigation paper, consult the Attorney-General’s Chambers, wait for it to go viral.” – The Vibes, July 23, 2021
