IPOH – The helicopter that landed at Padang Ipoh here on Friday had obtained permission to cross state borders only for maintenance purposes, not to transport nasi ganja orders.
Perak police chief Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid said statements have been recorded from the police chief who gave the chopper the green light, the complainant, food outlet owner and Bell 505 Global Ranger helicopter company owner.
“Police are still investigating, and the findings will be referred to the deputy public prosecutor for further instruction.”
The case is being probed under Regulation 16 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations, and members of the public are advised against making speculation that can affect investigation.
Perak police yesterday had taken the statements of several individuals, including a 52-year-old Datuk, to assist in the investigation into the incident at the Petaling Jaya police headquarters in Selangor.
Social media was atwitter when a helicopter landed at Padang Ipoh here to allegedly collect 36 packets of nasi ganja from a popular nasi kandar shop in the state. The order is said to had been made by a customer in the federal capital.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia in a statement on Saturday said the helicopter operated by Systematic Aviation Services Sdn Bhd left Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang at 9.08am for Ipoh, before returning to the township at 11.02am as filed in the flight plan.
