Datuk among 3 quizzed over nasi ganja delivery via chopper

IPOH – Police have recorded statements from three individuals, including a man with the Datuk title, in connection with a helicopter that landed at Padang Ipoh here to pick up an order of nasi ganja on Friday.

Perak police chief Datuk Mior Faridalathrash Wahid told Bernama that statements were recorded from the 52-year-old Datuk; a helicopter pilot, 46; and, a 62-year-old man who reportedly placed the order, at the Petaling Jaya district police headquarters in Selangor today.

He declined to share further information.

The episode went viral when images of the helicopter landing at Padang Ipoh, believed to be to pick up 36 packets of the famous dish ordered by a customer from Kuala Lumpur, made the rounds online.

Investigations into the trio and company that owns the aircraft are being conducted under the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases Regulations.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia in a statement two days ago said the Bell 505 helicopter operated by Systematic Aviation Services Sdn Bhd departed Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang for Ipoh at 9.08am and returned to the airport at 11.02am as per its flight plan. – Bernama, July 26, 2021
