POLICE will record the statement of Malaysia Border Control and Protection Agency (AKPS) director-general Datuk Seri Mohd Shuhaily Mohd Zain as part of further investigations into a viral video involving him.
Attorney-General Tan Sri Dusuki Mokhtar said police also needed to verify the authenticity of closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage linked to the incident before the investigation could be completed.
“After reviewing the investigation papers, there are several aspects that require further investigation to complete the probe.
“The investigation papers will be returned to the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) today for that purpose,” he said.
Dusuki said the additional investigation would cover Shuhaily’s statement, the CCTV footage and other relevant evidence.
The Attorney General’s Chambers had on Oct 6 said it would conduct a further review of the investigation papers, including witness statements, CCTV recordings and other evidence related to the case.
The papers were referred to the AGC by Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Mohd Khalid Ismail for further review, advice and directions under Article 145(3) of the Federal Constitution.
The investigation followed two police reports lodged by two officers who alleged that they had been physically assaulted by Shuhaily.
Bukit Aman’s Criminal Investigation Department is investigating the allegations under Section 323 of the Penal Code, which covers voluntarily causing hurt. – October 8, 2026
