KUALA LUMPUR – A group of senators aligned with the opposition are planning to make their way to Parliament this morning despite the postponement of the special Dewan Negara sitting originally slated to begin today.
This comes after yesterday’s showdown between parliamentarians and police.
Unlike the heavy security presence yesterday, the situation today appears calmer, with only a minimal number of police deployed to monitor the area.
Roads leading to Parliament are not blocked, with just a single police checkpoint near the main entrance.
It is learnt that only staff and 11 senators are allowed in Parliament. The senators are:

3. Bob Manolan
4. Datuk Ismail Yusof
5. Suresh Singh Rashpal Singh
6. Alan Ling Sie Kiong

10. Lim Hui Ying
11. Kesavadas Achyuthan Nair.
