KUALA LUMPUR – Participants in Saturday’s anti-government #Lawan rally, including Muda leaders, have complained of police intimidating their family members.

Dr Thanussha Francis Xavier, vice-president of the yet-to-be-registered party, tweeted about such an incident today.

She also shared a photo of cops outside her parents’ home.

Dr Thanussha told The Vibes that she is currently in Kuala Lumpur, while her parents are in Taiping.

“Police went to my parents’ home in Taiping. My family went out to inquire, and the officers asked if I lived there.

“They said they were doing their rounds and just stopped by to take photos and inquire in general since I was involved in the protest.”

She slammed the intimidation to get her to quit fighting for the cause.

“Nothing is going to make me stop fighting. I cooperated with police and gave my statement at (the) Dang Wangi (station) yesterday.

“There is no reason for them to visit my family home today.”

Muda secretary-general Amir Abd Hadi also shared a similar incident, saying such tactics will not dissuade him.

“I was just informed that officers from the Kuala Lumpur police headquarters were present at my family’s home today.

“I view this as a form of intimidation by the Perikatan Nasional government, which is now desperate.

“Don’t assume you can dampen our spirits.”

Undi18 founder Qyira Yusri tweeted: “Police just came to my house and demanded to know where I was.

“Why the police intimidation? Why can’t you contact our lawyers?” – The Vibes, August 4, 2021
