PASIR MAS – Police on Sunday arrested a couple, and seized heroin base and psychotropic pills worth RM2.095 million at a house in Jalan Pasir Mas-Tanah Merah here.
Kelantan police chief Datuk Shafien Mamat told the press today that the seizure was made following the arrest of the man, a 27-year-old lorry driver, by a team from the Bukit Aman Narcotics Crime Investigation Department and Pasir Mas narcotics team about 1.20pm.
“No contraband was found on the man, who then led police to his house, which was nearby. His Thai wife, aged 23, was in the house.
“Inside the house, the man showed officers a package containing heroin base weighing 13.295kg and worth RM1.23 million.
“Police also confiscated 86,000 psychotropic pills worth RM860,000, as well as a Proton Satria and a motorcycle.”
He said the couple have been remanded for seven days since their date of arrest for drug trafficking.
They face the death sentence if found guilty. – Bernama, August 11, 2021
