KAMPAR – Some tourism operators in Perak are still not ready to welcome tourists even though domestic tourism activities are allowed for fully vaccinated individuals in states under Phase 2 of the National Recovery Plan.
State Housing, Local Government and Tourism Committee chairman Datuk Nolee Ashilin Mohamed Radzi said incomplete vaccination of workers was one of the main reasons for this.
“Therefore, I urge all parties involved, especially hotels and homestay operators, to ensure that they are fully prepared to reopen their premises to tourists,” she told reporters at the community vaccine mobilisation (Movak) programme for the Tualang Sekah constituency at Kg Changkat Tin here today.
Nolee Ashilin, who is also the Tualang Sekah assemblyman, advised all tourists to adhere to the standard operating procedures so that travel permissions could continue.
“If cases or clusters arise from this, it will definitely affect inter-district travel permissions for tourism purposes,” she said.
Meanwhile, Nolee Ashilin said a total of 1,200 residents in Tualang Sekah would receive their Covid-19 shots in the two-day Movak programme organised to ramp up vaccinations, especially in rural areas. – Bernama, August 11, 2021
