KUALA LUMPUR – Eight localities in Sabah, Terengganu, Kelantan and Perak will be placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from Tuesday until August 30, said Senior Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein.
In a statement today, he said the areas in Sabah are four villages in Kota Belud, namely Kg Mantanau, Kg Pirasan Ulu, Kg Suang Punggur and Kg Tambulaung.
“Another locality is in Taman Megah Jaya, Tawau, involving Lorong Megah 2, 3, 9 and 10.”
The EMCO will also be imposed on Kg Bukit Cina in Pasir Akar, Besut, Terengganu; Kg Lela Jasa in Olak Jeram, Kuala Krai, Kelantan; and, the Spanish Garden construction site in Kinta, Perak.
Hishammuddin said the EMCO in 33 localities involving two subdistricts in Dungun, Terengganu, namely Kuala Dungun and Sura, as well as Kg Tagibang in Kota Marudu, Sabah, will be extended to August 30.
The EMCO in Kuala Dungun involves 19 localities, namely Sg Buaya, Tanah Lot, Lembah, Padang Jambu, Nibong, Bukit Chatak Tengah, Kg Molek, Bijangga, Sg Udang, Sg Penaga, Kubang Miang, Teratai, Telok Lipat, Alor Tembesu, Sura Utara, Batu 48, Sura Gate, Bukit Chatak and Tembesu Akar.
In Sura, the 14 areas are the Gong Pasir low-cost public housing, Kg Gong Pasir, Taman Maidam, Batu Lima, Sura Tengah, Alor Tempoyak, Taman Rakyat Jaya, Taman Delima Batu Enam, Balai Besar, Sura Melati, Batu Tujuh, Paya Balai Besar, Pak Sabah and Sura Lapangan Terbang.
The same order imposed on the Anak Ikan low-cost public housing in Jabi, Besut, Terengganu, as well as five localities in Sabah – Ladang Agathis in Kalabakan; Kg Bakalau in Beaufort; Kg Nosoob in Penampang; the Ladang Hibumas housing area in Sg-Sg Beluran; and, Kg Gusung in Kota Kinabalu – will end tomorrow as scheduled.
Hishammuddin said 65 premises were ordered shut, while 174 individuals were compounded and nine remanded for flouting Covid-19 standard operating procedures yesterday. – Bernama, August 15, 2021
