KUALA LUMPUR – PAS deputy president Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man confirmed that the party is ready to submit its statutory declarations to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong by the 4pm deadline tomorrow.
The Kubang Kerian MP in a statement today said PAS welcomes the king’s call for all political parties to prioritise the well-being of the country and its people.
“His Majesty decreed for all parties to give their cooperation in an effort to spark peace and harmony, and focus on health issues, the Covid-19 threat, as well as the economic and national well-being.”
He called upon all parties to remain calm and trust the king’s wisdom to resolve the current political impasse.
Tuan Ibrahim was the first party leader to arrive at Istana Negara for an audience with Yang di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri’ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah today, arriving at 1.34pm.
Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir arrived at 1.52pm, followed by Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi two minutes later.
Lim Guan Eng and Mohamad Sabu arrived shortly after one another, while Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim arrived at 1.59pm.
The leaders are believed to have had a group meeting with the king, according to palace sources.
The royal audience follows the resignation of Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin as prime minister yesterday, and is believed to have discussed a succession plan for the top post. – The Vibes, August 17, 2021
