14 localities in 4 states to fall under EMCO

KUALA LUMPUR – Seven localities in Terengganu and three each in Kelantan and Sabah will be placed under the enhanced movement control order (EMCO) from Saturday until September 10, said the National Security Council today.

Director-general Datuk Rodzi Md Saad in a statement said one locality in Johor – Kg Orang Asli Simpang Arang in Johor Baru – will observe the order from tomorrow to September 9.

The affected areas in Terengganu are Bandar Paka, Gong Gemia, Cacar Baru, Limbong, Kuala Paka, Taman Indah Permai and Telaga Mas in Dungun, he said.

“The three localities in Kelantan are Kg Gerong in Sg Pinang; Kg Baru Nelayan in Tumpat; and, Kg Talak in Jal Besar, Tumpat.

“The localities in Sabah are Kg Sg Imam in Tawau; Kg Kapakaan in Keningau; and, Kg Paris 3 in Kinabatangan.”

He said the EMCO in Taman Puri Warisan, Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, and at the Sri Datai Mining Sdn Bhd workers’ quarters in Mukah, Sarawak, which had been scheduled to end tomorrow, will be extended until September 10.

The EMCO in five localities each in Sabah and Kelantan, Pahang (2) and Kedah (1) will end as scheduled tomorrow.

The Kedah area is Taman Desa Bidara in Kuala Ketil, Baling, while those in Sabah are Kg Gambaron 2, Telupid; the Bumi Timber Sdn Bhd factory and workers’ quarters in Batu 27, and Kosinar Sdn Bhd factory and workers’ quarters in Batu 28, Jalan Sook in Keningau; Kg Pengiran in Sipitang; and, Kg Wokok Kinuta in Kota Belud.

The Kelantan areas are Kg Chenerai, Kg Lubok Kawah, Kg Pohon Tg, Kg Pak Jak and Kg Landar in Pasir Mas.

The two localities in Pahang are the Apartment Amber Court and Gran lon Deleman building site in Genting Highlands, Bentong, and Kg Gadak in Rompin.

The EMCO at the Spanish Garden construction site in Kinta, Perak, will be lifted tomorrow, earlier than its slated end date of August 30. – Bernama, August 26, 2021
