KUALA LUMPUR – The bed occupancy rates at intensive care units (ICUs) treating Covid-19 patients in Sabah, Kedah and Perak have now exceeded 100%, said Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

He said as of yesterday, Sabah has had 145 beds (126%) being used at the ICUs, followed by Kedah with 104 beds used (121%) and Perak with 90 beds used (107%).

Sharing some infographics information through his Twitter account today, Dr Noor Hisham said the other states like Selangor, Kelantan, Penang and Johor show the ICU beds usage at almost 100% – with Selangor and Kelantan at 99% each, Penang (96%) and Johor (95%).

 Throughout Malaysia, the rate of hospital beds occupancy in the ICUs has reached 90% while the non-ICU bed usage is at 78% yesterday. – Bernama, September 2, 2021
