KOTA KINABALU – A Health Ministry medicine storage facility was destroyed in a landslide in Kg Kopungit here last night.
The Sabah Fire and Rescue Department operations centre said in a statement that three vehicles and a motorcycle belonging to ministry personnel, as well as three public vehicles were also buried in the incident.
“The incident happened last night. However, the department only received a report of the incident at 11.19am today. No injuries or casualties were reported. No operations were carried out, except to monitor and collect information at the scene.
“The department has notified police to inform the village head to order the villagers to vacate their houses in the surrounding areas as a security measure,” read the statement.
The department had also set up barriers at the incident area as a security measure to prevent more serious incidents and ensure that members of the public do not enter the area. – Bernama, September 4, 2021
