KUALA LUMPUR – For about 14 years, Alladin Lumbu had abused children in Lundu, Sarawak, undetected.

Alladin not only sexually abused children between the ages of 2 and 16, but published his crimes on the dark web, boasting about his exploits.

It was only through the cooperation of Australian enforcement authorities and the Malaysian police that Aladdin’s crimes have come to a halt.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, 40-year-old Aladdin had been on the authority’s radar since 2019, with his online alias considered among the top 10 child sexual abuse offenders worldwide.

The report also indicated that Alladin had been sharing sexual abuse material on the internet since 2007, and is linked to more than 1,000 child porn images and videos.

Australian officials who provided evidence to prosecutors in Kuching identified 34 victims he had abused, while also suggesting the possibility that there are more victims.

In July, after linking Alladin’s alias to his photograph and identity, Malaysian and Australian authorities tracked the offender to a Covid-19 quarantine centre in Sarawak.

Alladin had to undergo mandatory quarantine after travelling from the peninsula.

He was allowed out on July 5 and was immediately arrested by Malaysian police.

Six weeks later, Alladin pled guilty to 18 charges and was sentenced to 48 years in prison and 15 strokes of the cane. – The Vibes, September 5, 2021
