KUALA LUMPUR – A sand lorry, whose driver is believed to have lost control of the vehicle, rammed into at least seven cars at the turn-off near Jalan Sultan Azlan Shah (Jalan Ipoh) here today, resulting in a massive traffic congestion at the intersection leading from Jalan Tuanku Abdul Halim (Jalan Duta).
No lives were lost in the incident, including the driver of a yellow Perodua Myvi that was badly damaged, being the first vehicle to be struck by the lorry.
Members of the public were able to pry open a gap for the driver, who sustained cuts and bruises, to climb out of.
Fire and Rescue Department personnel and traffic police were immediately deployed to the scene.
It is learnt that the authorities are still investigating the cause of the pile-up. – The Vibes, September 6, 2021
