KUALA LUMPUR – A vendor on Lazada has been found to be selling fake Covid-19 vaccination cards at RM12 apiece.
Checks by The Vibes revealed that the seller is operating out of Negri Sembilan, with the delivery charge set at the standard rate of RM3.80.
They bear the names of vaccine brands Pfizer, Sinovac, Johnson & Johnson and AstraZeneca.
The vendor’s post states that buyers should send a screenshot of their MySejahtera profile, details of which will not be amended, and that the cards are meant only as “memorabilia”.
The listing shows that no purchases have been made.
Bukit Aman Criminal Investigation Department chief Datuk Abd Jalil Hassan told The Vibes that there has not been any reports or complaints on the matter.
Last month, it was reported that the Health Ministry detected the sale online of vaccination certificates in the form of physical cards, in northern states.
Deputy Minister Datuk Dr Noor Azmi Ghazali said the ministry’s inspectorate and legal unit will act against the parties involved.
Sultanah Bahiyah Hospital obstetrics and gynaecology department head Dr Mohd Rushdan Noor earlier revealed that coronavirus vaccination certificates were being sold online at RM15 each. – The Vibes, September 8, 2021
