KUALA LUMPUR – Energy and Natural Resources Minister Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan has to undergo self-quarantine after he was confirmed to be a close contact of someone who was Covid-19 positive.

In a statement today, the PAS lawmaker reassured everyone that he tested negative based on his PCR tests on Friday, September 10 and on Monday, September 13.

“However, I’m still undergoing self-quarantine until September 20, 2021. This is in line with the Covid-19 standard operating procedures for all individuals who have had close contact.

“Therefore, I am unable to attend the opening of the first meeting, fourth term of the 14th sitting of Parliament and the Dewan Rakyat’s meetings this week, or any duties that require my physical presence.

“However, I can still conduct my duties through the hybrid system,” said Takiyuddin.

Parliament reconvened yesterday and was opened by the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah. – The Vibes, September 14, 2021
