KOTA KINABALU – Inter-district travel has been allowed in five Sabah zones from tomorrow.
The districts are divided as follows:
Zone 1 - Kota Kinabalu, Penampang, Putatan, Tuaran, Ranau and Kota Belud;
Zone 2 - Beaufort, Sipitang and Kuala Penyu;
Zone 3 - Kudat, Kota Marudu, Pitas and Beluran;
Zone 4 - Lahad Datu and Kunak; and,
Zone 5 - Keningau, Tambunan and Tenom.
Kinabatangan, Telupid, Tongod, Sandakan, Kalabakan, Tawau, Papar, Semporna and Nabawan have been categorised as standalone districts, seeing that they have yet to achieve a 60% fully vaccinated rate for the adult population, according to the new Sabah SOPs issued tonight.
Yesterday, Sabah Local Government and Housing Minister Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun announced that the state cabinet has agreed to allow inter-district travel.
Masidi said the state government will also allow several businesses, such as spas, beauty salons, reflexology, wellness centres, massage centres, as well as manicure and pedicure services, to reopen beginning tomorrow.
Other businesses allowed to reopen from tomorrow are tourism and recreation activities, such as zoos, plantations, edutainment centres and jungle parks, he said.
Sabah today recorded 993 new cases and 20 deaths from Covid-19, with the daily tally of new infections appearing to be on a downtrend since three days ago. – The Vibes, September 30, 2021
