KUALA LUMPUR – Pengkalan Batu assemblyman Datuk Norhizam Hassan Baktee, who is an independent, has denied allegations that he is planning to return to the Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition today.

Norhizam, alleged to be among the assemblymen switching sides, told Astro Awani that “nothing is shaky”.

“As of 4.35pm, nothing’s shaky, everything is going on as per normal.

“Some said I am going here and there, what are they talking about? Everyone can talk, let them say what they want.”

This came after Sin Chew Daily reported that a number of assemblymen with the Barisan Nasional-led state government were possibly going to pledge support to PH.

The Chinese daily reported PH assemblymen in Melaka had met up with the coalition's leadership last night, including PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng, and organising secretary Anthony Loke.

However, Loke told Malaysiakini that no decisions were made during the meeting, adding that it would be wrong to say the BN-led state government offered an olive branch.

On September 21, Melaka Chief Minister Datuk Seri Sulaiman Md Ali offered five propositions to the state’s opposition in a bid to achieve political stability. – The Vibes, October 1, 2021
