KOTA KINABALU – Sabah will join other Phase 3 states on Monday, said state Covid-19 spokesman Datuk Seri Masidi Manjun.
He tweeted that Sabah has qualified to move to the next phase of the National Recovery Plan that will see the relaxation of certain economic and social sectors.
Masidi, as quoted by The Star, said that although it is difficult to predict Covid-19 case trends in Sabah, the pattern of infections over a 14-day period has shown a decline.
“The daily cases will go through a ‘yo-yo’ trend in the near future. After dropping by 60 cases yesterday, the number of new infections increased by 29 cases today.”
The state recorded 691 new Covid-19 cases yesterday, and 720 cases today.
He said despite the cumulative increase, 16 districts recorded a decrease in the number of cases.
Of the new cases today, 253 or 31.5% are from symptomatic screenings.
“This is an indication that the level of standard operating procedure compliance is still not very satisfactory.” – The Vibes, October 15, 2021
