KUALA LUMPUR – It looks like Khairy Jamaluddin has his hands full not only battling Covid-19, but also dealing with anti-vaxxers slamming him online.

The health minister uploaded two images to Instagram Stories today, one of which showed a “prayer” against him shared in a Telegram group.

“Ya Allah, we place You on the necks of our enemies – our enemies are Khairy Jamaluddin and his associates.

“We place ourselves in Your protection from the evils of Khairy Jamaluddin and his associates.

“Ya Allah, destroy Khairy Jamaluddin and his associates,” read part of the “prayer”.

Unperturbed, Khairy shared the screenshot with the message: “Anti-vaxxers stepping up their game.”

The other image he posted is also of a Telegram group, in which a member claimed that Khairy wears four talismans on his left hand, signifying four jinns that protect him.

Khairy, in response, said he uses only “jinn vaccines”.

“Wrong, I use four jinn vaccines to protect Malaysia. Jinn Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Sinovac and CanSino.”

Yesterday, the Rembau MP said the government is mulling the possibility of weekly Covid-19 tests for those who refuse the jab.

Although vaccination is not mandatory, he said, the government is mulling making life “difficult” for those who opt against getting the shot without having medical reasons for their decision.

Hulu Langat MP Datuk Hasanuddin Mohd Yunus disagreed with this method, telling Khairy to instead approach those hesitant about getting vaccinated or entirely opposed to it with fair policies in a professional manner

The Amanah lawmaker said a minister should craft fair policies in approaching those yet to get the jab, and to do so in a civilised and professional way.

He added that Khairy’s approach will only increase tensions, and that Malaysia needs a government that can manage conflicts intelligently, not emotionally. – The Vibes, October 17, 2021
