KUALA LUMPUR – Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari has denied allegations that he has been receiving monthly kickbacks from gambling syndicates.
In a tweet last night, he said the allegations made by the Edisi Siasat blog had no basis at all.
Berhubung dakwaan mengaitkan saya menerima bayaran bulanan dari sindiket judi haram, saya menafikan dakwaan ini yang tidak mempunyai asas sama sekali. Saya menafikan sekeras-kerasnya dakwaan tersebut.

However, after Amirudin’s denial, Edisi Siasat responded on Twitter, urging Selangor folk to observe if there are gambling centres that are still in operation in their areas.
“If an old lady opens a roadside business without a licence, the enforcement is swift. But why can’t they see these gambling centres?”

Last Sunday, Amirudin was accused of getting RM150,000 monthly from gambling syndicates. It was also alleged that local council officers in Selangor are paid RM10,000-RM20,000 a month depending on the number of centres in their respective areas.
The allegations pointed to the involvement of police, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, and PKR and DAP politicians. – The Vibes, October 19, 2021
