[UPDATED] Covid-19 cases drop to 5,809 today

KUALA LUMPUR – Daily Covid-19 infections are at a decline today, as the Health Ministry reports 5,809 fresh cases.

This brings the nation’s Covid-19 tally to 2,541,147 infections.

Following the Health Ministry’s CovidNow database, 64,277 remain active as of 11.59pm yesterday.

Meanwhile, 527 cases are being treated at intensive care units, with 484 cases confirmed as Covid-19 and the remaining 43 still under investigation.

As for cases requiring ventilator support, the ministry recorded 277 cases, 193 of which are confirmed Covid-19.

With regard to recoveries, the ministry noted 4,712 cases today, bringing the tally to 2,446,197.

Currently, the infectivity rate or R-naught stands at 1.04 nationwide.

Putrajaya recorded the highest infectivity rate at 1.17, followed by Kuala Lumpur (1.06), Selangor (1.04), Negri Sembilan (1.03), Pahang (1.02), Kelantan (1.01), Sabah (0.99), Perlis (0.98), Melaka (0.97), Kedah (0.96), Johor (0.95), Terengganu (0.92), Penang (0.91), Perak (0.9), and Sarawak (0.88), while Labuan recorded nil.
