[UPDATED] Covid-19 cases see slight decline at 5,162: health DG

KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia recorded a slight decline in its daily Covid-19 caseload with 5,162 infections today, according to Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.

On Twitter, Dr Noor Hisham said this brings the cumulative cases to 2,546,309.

Yesterday, the country logged 5,809 cases and 4,712 recoveries.

Meanwhile, the ministry’s CovidNow website stated that the country saw 55 deaths today, including 11 brought-in-dead (BID) cases.

In a statement today, he said recovered cases currently stand at 5,019, taking the cumulative total to 2,451,216.

“Of the 5,162 infections reported today, 104 cases (2%) involved patients in Categories 3, 4, and 5, while 5,058 (98%) involved patients in Categories 1 and 2.”

He added that 524 cases are being treated in intensive care units, with 265 cases requiring respiratory assistance.

According to Dr Noor Hisham, no new clusters were reported today.

The country has seen a total of 5,840 clusters since the beginning of the pandemic, with 5,574 of them having ended, and 266 remaining active. – The Vibes, November 14, 2021
