KUALA LUMPUR – New Covid-19 cases in Malaysia continue to decrease, recording 5,143 infections today, bringing the cumulative total to 2,551,452, said Health Director-General Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
In a statement today, he revealed that a total of 4,551 recoveries were reported, pushing the total recovered cases up to 2,455,767.
He added that of the new cases reported today, 526 cases are in intensive care units with 250 of them requiring respiratory assistance.
“Among the 5,143 cases recorded today, 126 (2.4%) involved patients in Categories 3, 4, and 5, while 5,017 (97.6%) involved patients in Categories 1 and 2,” he said.
The nation has seen a total of 5,843 clusters since the beginning of the pandemic, including three new clusters detected today.
The number of clusters that have ended are at 5,593 while 250 remain active.
In a disappointing development after yesterday’s record of no new clusters, three new clusters were detected today.
However, additional information on the new clusters was not included in Dr Noor Hisham’s statement. – The Vibes, November 15, 2021
