MELAKA – Perikatan Nasional’s (PN) chief ministerial candidate Datuk Mas Ermieyati Samsudin has been defeated by former mentor Datuk Seri Ab Rauf Yusof in the hotly contested Tg Bidara seat.

According to unofficial results on screens at Barisan Nasional’s (BN) command centre, Rauf has won the seat by a 364 majority.

All 23 channels in the state seat have been accounted for. 

Later, the Election Commission confirmed that Rauf garnered 3,559 votes while Mas Ermieyati got 3,195 votes. Pakatan Harapan’s Zainal Hassan lost his deposit, managing only 489 votes. 

Mas Ermieyati was PN’s chief minister hopeful while Rauf was the former state speaker and Melaka BN chief. – The Vibes, November 20, 2021
