KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia’s daily Covid-19 caseload saw a slight increase today with 5,755 infections, said Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
On Twitter, the health director-general said this brings the cumulative number of cases to 2,602,835.
Today’s new cases were higher than the 5,594 infections seen yesterday.
In a statement today, he said the nation also recorded 5,082 recoveries, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 2,503,427.
He said of the new cases reported today, 506 are being treated in intensive care units, while 270 require respiratory assistance.
“Among the 5,755 cases reported today, 101 (1.8%) involved patients in Categories 3, 4, and 5, while 5,654 (98.2%) involved patients in Categories 1 and 2.”
The country has seen a total of 5,906 clusters since the beginning of the pandemic, including eight new clusters detected today.
Clusters that have ended stand at 5,672, while 234 remain active.
Additional details on newly detected clusters will apparently no longer be shared in Dr Noor Hisham’s press statement, as none have been provided since last week. – The Vibes, November 24, 2021
