KOTA KINABALU – Calling for PKR president Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim to resign as opposition chief and playing the blame game over losses in the Melaka polls will not resolve the conflict among component parties, said the party’s Sabah chapter.
Sabah PKR said DAP and Amanah should look at their respective performances in the polls as dissent will only bring about a split.
“We seriously view the comments by Bilut and Luyang assemblymen Lee Chin Chen and Phoong Jin Zhe as direct attacks on our president Anwar and the unity of the PH presidential council.
“Blaming Anwar and asking him to step down after the Melaka polls shows their immaturity in bringing internal issues into the public sphere.
“PH should carry out a post-mortem on its performance in Melaka, and any suggestion and policy decision can be made consultatively together in the spirit of the PH family,” said the Sabah PKR leadership council in a statement today.
It added that blaming PH’s top leaders, especially Anwar, for working with the two former Barisan Nasional representatives, was unfounded and simplistic, and that failures and successes are joint responsibilities. – The Vibes, November 24, 2021
