KUALA LUMPUR – A helicopter ferrying caretaker Chief Minister Tan Sri Abang Johari Openg – along with his entourage – was forced to make an emergency landing at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak at 2pm, following severe weather conditions.
According to Kamek Miak Sarawak’s Facebook page, Abang Johari and his entourage managed to land safely without any untoward incidents.
The Borneo Post reported Sarawak police commissioner Datuk Aidi Ismail as confirming that the emergency landing was made at the university’s marching field, following bad weather and heavy rainfall during the flight.
Besides Abang Johari, his entourage comprises his wife Datuk Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang, his bodyguard, and a personal assistant.
It is learnt that the incumbent Gedong assemblyman was on his way back to state capital Kuching when weather conditions had forced the helicopter to land at the university’s campus in Kota Samarahan instead. – The Vibes, December 18, 2021
