KUALA LUMPUR – As the authorities continue efforts to rescue Malaysians stranded by the floods, some individuals have taken it upon themselves to give their best for another helpless group – terrified animals such as dogs and cats.
On Twitter, user @JAEADYUN1 posted a 14-second video of kittens and cats being transported to safety by Foodpanda and Lalamove riders.

“Not me crying because of this, thank you so much abang foodpanda,” @JAEADYUN1 said in their post.
At the time of writing, the video first uploaded on TikTok had received more than 337,000 views, over 27,000 retweets, and around 32,800 likes.
Meanwhile, animal activist and shelter volunteer Nurul Ain Abdul Hamid posted on Facebook and Instagram of her plight, where she desperately begged for assistance to help her rescue 21 disabled cats who were stuck with her on a roof in Shah Alam.
When the water level started rising, Nurul Ain had sent her shelter dogs to a safer location, but when she returned home to save her cats, they were stranded with the disabled felines.
“We are trapped in our house now. After sending the dogs to a safer location to manage our cats. We were worried because the water levels rose to the chest level.
“Now it reaches our heads. Please help. Please send boats or anything because even lorries can’t get through anymore. I have 21 cats and all of them are special cats – blind in both eyes or paralysed in both hind legs.
“Please send help. We don’t have electricity, not much internet and my phone’s battery is low. Please send help,” said Nurul Ain on the S.I Home Shelter Facebook page in the wee hours of yesterday morning.
Hours later, she reported on her Instagram page that she was still stranded with her 21 “fur babies”.
Based on her last Instagram post on the incident on Saturday, she has received a lot of support from the community with 17,057 likes at publication time.
Similarly, many users also offered her some advice, prayers and words of support.
“I found this source from Twitter (chentaahatii) ‘If you need boat assistance and such around Selangor, you can contact this number 017-283-8976’,” said farhanahkhalid in her response to Nurul Ain’s plea.
The Vibes has attempted to call the number listed in the post, but Nurul Ain is currently unreachable.
The address that she posted on both her Facebook and Instagram posts is 58, Jalan Tabah 25/24 Taman Sri Muda, Shah Alam.
Earlier, The Vibes had also reported on how netizens had mobilised to help their fellow Malaysians in need.
