KUALA LUMPUR – Flash floods have once again struck parts of Shah Alam following a heavy spell of rain since last night.

According to the @plustrafik Twitter account, as of 9.15am, flash floods have caused the closure of several lanes at the Shah Alam toll plaza on the Elite Highway.

Motorists have been advised to avoid using the route and opt for an alternative route instead.

Several netizens have posted pictures of the highway route inundated with water.

It is learnt that other parts of Selangor such as Sg Buloh have reportedly been struck by flash floods as well.

According to the Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia), heavy rain and thunderstorms are expected in parts of Selangor, Johor, and Sarawak today.

Rainfall is expected to hit the districts of Klang, Kuala Selangor, Gombak, Petaling, and Kuala Langat in Selangor; Pontian, Kulai and Johor Baru in Johor; and Limbang in Sarawak. – The Vibes, December 22, 2021
