KUALA LUMPUR – IKEA Damansara has closed for the day for sanitisation after a suspected Covid-19 infection among its employees.

The store, in a statement on its website, said it will reopen tomorrow.

“We were informed on November 6 that one of our part-time co-workers is suspected of Covid-19, and is currently under the care of the authorities and waiting to be tested. The co-worker’s last working day was October 30.

“The health, safety and overall well-being of our co-workers, customers, partners and community are our top priorities. As a proactive precautionary measure, our store will be closed on November 7 to undergo sanitisation and deep cleaning.

“Our store will resume operations on November 8.”

The Swedish home furnishing giant said it will ensure health and safety measures, including MySejahtera registration for customers, social distancing and temperature checks, are diligently implemented.

“We encourage everyone to do their part by supporting and following the government’s direction to prevent the spread of Covid-19.” – The Vibes, November 7, 2020
