KUALA LUMPUR – A massive thunderstorm wreaked havoc across Shah Alam today with a Giant supermarket outlet, seeing the roof of its parking lot all but blown off.
According to Selangor Fire and Rescue Department director Norazam Khamis, eight cars were damaged in the storm, but no injuries have been reported.

The department also confirmed that at 5pm, it had received a report of a fallen tree near the Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah Polytechnic, which is across the road from Giant.
He said two cars were crushed by one tree and the victims managed to free themselves before the fire department arrived.
Videos of the storm have since gone viral on social media, with one netizen by the name of Shariman posting a video of hail and heavy rain nearby.

According to Media Selangor, a football stadium in Section 13 was also seriously damaged, with a section of its bleachers completely dislodged. – The Vibes, January 27, 2022
