BUKIT MERTAJAM – A man who was wanted by police was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds at a car parking area of ​​a luxury condominium in Jalan Baru here, last night.

The incident is believed to have happened at 8.45pm involving a 31-year-old local man.

Penang police chief Datuk Shuhaily Mohd Zain said they received an emergency call from the public at 9.30pm before a police team rushed to the location.

He said police found the man lying down and covered in blood on the third floor of the condominium parking lot.

“Preliminary investigation found that the victim is believed to have been attacked by more than two suspects armed with pistols.

“Currently, we cannot say how many shots were fired at the victim but the forensic inspection at the location found 12 bullet casings,” he told reporters, last night.

Shuhaily said the victim is also believed to have been renting a unit in the luxury condominium for the past five months.

He said the police did not rule out the possibility that the incident was motivated by revenge as the victim had various criminal records, apart from being wanted by police. – The Vibes, February 1, 2022
