KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysian Meteorological Department has issued a thunderstorm warning for six districts in Selangor – Sabak Bernam, Kuala Selangor, Klang, Petaling, Kuala Langat and Sepang.

In its 7.50am announcement today, it also has the same warning for Putrajaya and Melaka.

Other affected areas are Negri Sembilan’s Seremban, Port Dickson and Rembau; and Johor’s Tangkak, Segamat, Muar, Batu Pahat, Kluang, Pontian, Kulai and Johor Baru.

The warning said the thunderstorms are set to last until noon today.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob yesterday said the Keluarga Malaysia flood aid for micro, small and medium enterprises will be improved.

He said in a statement that the government will give grants worth RM3,000 through Tekun Nasional to micro and informal businesses affected by the floods from a RM50 million allocation that will benefit 15,000 enterprises.

The extra allocation of RM50 million will be provided through the Informal and Micro Financing Scheme under Tekun Nasional and affected micro and informal enterprises can get loans of up to RM10,000 without interest.

For affected small and medium enterprises, Ismail Sabri said RM100 million will be provided through the SME Emergency Fund Programme under SME Corp. This fund allows loans of up to RM100,000 without interest with a repayment period of up to five years and a 12-month moratorium. – The Vibes, February 10, 2022
